Services built
around you

Physiotherapy

HCPC-registered, hands-on musculoskeletal physiotherapy — assessment, manual therapy, and progressive exercise rehabilitation for back, neck, joint, and sports pain. We combine treatment with education so you understand your condition and what to do between sessions, across both our Liverpool Street and Wickham Bishops clinics.

Acupuncture

Western medical acupuncture delivered by chartered physiotherapists — fine needles placed at specific sites after a physiotherapy diagnosis to ease persistent musculoskeletal pain. Used as part of a wider treatment plan; a course of treatment usually gives longer-lasting relief than a single session.

Book Online

Exercise Rehabilitation

Tailored, progressive exercise programmes to rebuild strength, mobility, and confidence after injury, surgery, or persistent pain — with full gym facilities in clinic and home-based options for patients who find attending difficult. The most strongly evidenced route to a lasting recovery.

TPI Golf Physiotherapy

Titleist Performance Institute golf physiotherapy with Amanda — a movement screen linking your body’s limitations to your golf swing. We target club-head speed, distance, and consistency while addressing the back, hip, and shoulder problems that golf can cause or expose.

Pilates

Physiotherapy-informed clinical Pilates with Janie — core strength, posture, flexibility, balance, and movement control. A graded, supervised way to bridge rehabilitation and ongoing conditioning, and to keep recurrent back and neck pain at bay. Suitable after injury or surgery and for maintaining long-term spinal mobility.

"I saw Amanda for a problem I've been having with a painful shoulder. She explained to me what the problem was, did a thorough treatment session and gave me some exercises to do to improve it. Very professional and friendly, I highly recommend her."

"I booked with Michelle for my first appointment. When I stood up I said to her it feels like heaven as my continuous back pain had totally gone. I was totally pain free for 7 hours so bless you Michelle."

"I first visited Amanda following a maisonneuve fracture. That day I walked 107 steps in a camboot with two crutches. I have visited weekly. Yesterday I walked 13,315 steps (no crutches, no boot). The transformation is truly amazing."

"After my son's sports injury we spent many months trying to get help from various other doctors. It was so reassuring to finally speak with someone who really understood what was going on. Michelle was worth every penny!"

"Michelle was absolutely amazing during my pregnancy with the multiple issues I had. She diagnosed and treated pain in my knee and my back, and got me from a place where I couldn't kneel at all, to fully weight bearing in a short space of time."

"Excellent treatment of my lower back and related sciatica injuries from CrossFit. Definitely my go-to therapist when in dire need of pain relief."

A whole-person approach
to physiotherapy.

The Physio Rooms is an HCPC-registered, CSP-chartered physiotherapy practice run by physiotherapists Amanda Yardley and Michelle across 2 clinics — inside UNTIL at 280 Bishopsgate by Liverpool Street, and in Wickham Bishops, Essex. Both clinics are open Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm, and you can self-refer and book online in under 2 minutes without a GP letter.

Our approach starts with the life you actually lead: we look at how your work, your sport, and your daily routine load your body, then combine hands-on manual therapy with progressive exercise rehabilitation and clear education. With more than 10 years of clinical experience between them, our physiotherapists treat 6 core areas of musculoskeletal care — back pain and sciatica, sports injuries, tendon and muscle injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, arthritis, and paediatric conditions — drawing on 5 core tools: manual therapy, massage, therapeutic exercise, acupuncture, and education.

Beyond core physiotherapy we offer 3 further strands of care: Amanda provides TPI golf physiotherapy, a movement screen that links physical limitations to your golf swing; Janie leads clinical Pilates for core strength, posture, and balance; and Western medical acupuncture is available as an adjunct for persistent pain. Every patient leaves with a written plan and a home-exercise programme, reassessed against their own baseline at each visit — an approach reflected in our 5.0-star rating across 11 Google reviews.

Your journey,
step by step

Assessment

Your first appointment covers a detailed history and a comprehensive musculoskeletal examination. We discuss our findings with you and agree a working diagnosis and treatment plan you understand before you leave.

Treatment & Rehabilitation

Hands-on manual therapy and massage combined with a progressive, tailored exercise programme — with acupuncture or clinical Pilates added where they help. You leave with a written summary and a home-exercise plan to keep progress going between visits.

Reassessment & Discharge

Each follow-up reassesses your progress against the baseline from session one, adjusting load and technique as you improve. Discharge happens by mutual agreement when you have the tools to manage independently — not after a fixed number of sessions.

Common
questions

Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist?

No. You can self-refer into physiotherapy — simply book an appointment online through our Cliniko booking page, or contact the clinic with any questions first. UK physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners, so a GP referral is not required to be seen.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring a list of any medication you take, any consultant letters or scan results you have, and comfortable clothing that allows movement and access to the area needing treatment. Arrive a few minutes early for your first visit so we can complete a short intake.

What happens during my first appointment?

Your initial visit includes detailed history-taking and a comprehensive assessment, after which we discuss our findings and agree a plan with you. Follow-up sessions continue treatment and progress your rehabilitation, reassessing against your baseline as you improve.

Will physiotherapy be painful?

Some techniques may cause mild discomfort during or shortly after treatment — comparable to post-exercise soreness — and this typically settles within 24 to 48 hours. We always work within your comfort levels and explain what to expect before we begin.

What treatments do you use?

We draw on manual therapy, massage, therapeutic exercise, acupuncture, and education, chosen to fit your presentation. Most musculoskeletal conditions respond best to a combination of hands-on treatment and a progressive exercise programme rather than passive treatment alone.

Where are your clinics?

We have two clinics: Liverpool Street, London — inside UNTIL at 280 Bishopsgate, EC2M 4RB, two minutes from the station — and Wickham Bishops, Essex, at 7 Wooldridge Place, CM8 3LW, with free on-site parking. Both are open Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm.
